So I’m getting married this weekend to a 29 yr old woman who has a 9 year old girl. I love them both. Her daughter is hilarious and so much fun. She listens to me and she likes me. Her father is the stereotypical guy who didn’t have a Dad so he didn’t know how to be one and he’s pretty awful how he treats his daughter. Not physical but emotional by Lying and not being there for her. Which puts a lot of responsibility on me. Because I know every little girl needs a father to look up to. I’ll never be her father how I see my father but I can be the male role model she needs. Is there any advice you guys could give me? Either from a step parent point of view or step child? Thank you! via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2EScqGv
