Would you ever trust your babysitter again if they let this happen?

I was brewing some tea. I set it down on the table while I threw something away and in those seconds the little boy I babysit tried grabbing my tea and it spilled all over his thigh. The water was still really hot, the poor little thing screamed in pain. His entire thigh was red. I feel like such a freaking idiot. WHY DID I WALK AWAY. Ughhhh.
