When is a good age to leave kid home alone?

My son is 10, turns 11 in May and keeps insisting that he’s okay to be home alone. I’m a single mom and have my own business and some days I have to work later than he gets home from school and I always get him and bring him with me. He doesn’t want to and wants to stay home. I told him once he has a phone and now that he does, I’m still too nervous! When I was his age we were always home alone but feels different now.At what age did you leave your kid(s) home?
