I have recently been granted custody of my 14 year old nephew. To make a long story short he was homeschooled prior to living with me. He will starting at our local public school next week. He is super excited.Our one issue is clothing. He didn't have many clothes when he came to me. We plan on going shopping this weekend but neither of us have any idea on what's popular. I'm almost 60 and a woman. My nephew didn't go to school and wasn't allowed to have friends. He isn't sure what kids are wearing.How do I find out what is popular? There are some teen boys in the neighborhood but they wear jackets at the bus stop so it is hard to tell what they are wearing underneath. My nephew hasn't gotten a chance to interact with any of them yet. Are skinny jeans still a thing? A know sneakers are a big deal. I think Nike would be okay. Do kids care about socks and underwear? High socks or low cut? Briefs or boxers? I see a lot of boys with hats on. Can we just buy a random sports team or would people make fun of him if he isn't actually a fan? What brands are popular for shirts?I know that's a lot but this kid has had it rough. He is about to start at a school for the first time since kindergarten. He is already going to be the new kid.
