So here's my problem; my 5 year old daughter started school in September. She's flying academically and is happy, but often complains that one girl, her "best friend", is often mean to her. I've talked to the teachers, and it seems the problem is that my kid is just too clingy. She wants one friend only, and when her pal is playing with others she just stands and waits for her to come back. She doesn't understand that you can have more than one friend at a time. My husband and I try talking to her, but she's so fixated on this one kid... it's killing me that she won't branch out and is being treated badly.
