Asking grandparents to watch a sick kid at your house: reasonable or unreasonable?

Recently I contacted my mother for a favor. My daughter was sick and it was my husband's birthday. I had a party planned at a brewery. I called my mother and asked her to stay with my daughter at our house during the party so I could go play host with him. My mother wanted to bring my daughter to her house instead. I objected to moving my daughter when she wasn't feeling well. My mother shows up at the appointed time and says she is there to take my daughter back to her house. I object and words were exchanged. She left and I stayed home with my daughter. I need a reality check. Is it reasonable to ask grandparents to watch a sick kid in your own house? Some details:* We live two miles apart from each other* My daughter was no longer contagious but not fit to be out and about (explained to my mother on phone)* My daughter is allergic to dogs and my mother has dogs* My mother did not give a reason for not wanting to be at my house until she came to pick her up. At that time she said she would have "nothing to do" at my house. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2Arxq0H
