20 month old laughs when misbehaving

Our 20 month old is killing me. He does things he absolutely knows are off limits like pulling the dogs tail, throwing dishes and/or food, screaming just for the sake of screaming, hitting me, etc.Let’s say he pulls the dog’s tail: I remove the kiddo’s hands from the dog, sit on the floor next to the kiddo and tell him firmly “we don’t pull the dog’s tail. It hurts the dog.” He laughs hysterically and runs off, unfazed. Same with throwing at the table: I take his plates/food/silverware away and tell him “we don’t throw food, it’s wasteful”. He laughs and looks for tiny crumbs to throw.I’m at a loss here. Nothing we do is effective. When we ignore completely, he just keeps doing whatever the fun activity is.My sisters’ only recommendation was for gin martinis. :/Any advice? I’ve read the whole brained child and no-drama discipline, but that all seems to apply to slightly older kids, so I’m feeling very powerless at the moment. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2qp5Gdh
