Toddler gets out of bed 3-4 times every night. Tips?

Hey everyone. Our two year old is pretty well sleep trained and has never had a problem sleeping through the night 7pm-7am.We switched to a big boy bed(twin) a couple weeks ago and he loves it. So he still stayed in bed and slept all night. Some nights he would wake up, hang out and talk to himself to get back to bed.Last weekend we watched frozen for the first time and the big snowman (marshmallow) terrified him. We spent the earlier part of the week talking him through it and explaining the characters to him.He doesn’t seem to be afraid anymore but during the week he realized he could get out of bed and come see us in the middle of the night. Now, let me tell you ... kids just opening your bedroom door and whispering ‘daddy’ under their breath while staring at you in darkness is FUCKING TERRIFYING. So now that I’ve worked through being scared of my son, I need to help him stay in bed.He is warm, comfy, has all of his stuff animals, and we have been telling him to stay in bed but he will just wake up in the middle of the night and walk into our room, well actually he will just stand outside of our doorway until he slowly opens the door and whispers “daddy” or”mommy.” Still pretty scary.Any tips to keep him in bed? A suggested book? I’ve heard about some colored clock but don’t really know any details yet. Please help is all get back to sleep because right now it seems like we’re all on edge in the evenings and then exhausted during the day.NOTE: I am writing this at 4:30am. He’s walked into our room 3 times this evening. Luckily it’s Saturday. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2yvKh5R
