So my 2 and half year old is extremely social. Like over the top social. If she even sees another kid she bee lines it for them and immediately says “hi, I’m “her name”, nice to met you” and then proceeds to follow them around saying “I want to play, your my friend” even if they don’t want to play with her. Some kids will play with her and they will have a blast(usually older kids 4+) but kids around her age usually look at her like she’s a weirdo and try to get away from her and get mad when she follows them. She doesn’t seem to get the hint that they don’t want to play with her so usually I intervene and tell my daughter they don’t want to play right now and she gets upset and ask “why don’t they want to be my friend?” Or will just keep bothering them even after I tell her to stop so we end up leaving(usually the park or Library storytime). She also won’t play at the park unless another kid will play with her. So if no kids are there she gets very upset and wants to leave right away(I offer to play with her but she won’t have it) or if she gets ignored by a kid or kids she won’t stop until someone plays with her and she will bother any kids she sees until they play with her. Anyone else dealing with a extremely social toddler? What should I do in these situations. I’m not very outgoing myself either so I’m not sure what to do! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2iGaPGN
