I'm pretty annoyed. This is more of a vent than than much else. I am fairly new to the south, my husband and I are not from this area and I fully understand that people do things (including raising children) differently. Tonight a large group of people, many with kids, all from the military (my husband's work) went out to a Japanese restaurant. I am a BIG fan of sushi, and I typically let my 15 month old try whatever is on my plate (within reason, I don't give him martinis or jalapeno poppers) So I was giving him bites here and there, he loved the fried rice and had his own serving of that, enjoyed the raw salmon, thought raw tuna was okay, didn't like yellowtail, but LOVED the raw salmon eggs so much that I ended up ordering him two pieces of salmon egg sushi just for him. I thought nothing of this and was even kind of proud that my 15 month old was willing to eat some of my favorite kinds of sushi! My husband snapped some great pictures and I posted one of my 15 month old eating the sushi on Instagram. I then put my phone away, forgot about it, and went bowling with the other military families. Well.....at the end of the night a few husbands told my husband that their wives were "concerned" that 1. I was feeding my child such unhealthy food (uh what?!? Sushi? I've seen the Little Debbies in your cabinet, Barbara) 2. That I was 'forcing' my child to eat gross things he didn't like, and he would have a bad relationship with food because of it and 3. That they saw my post and I was going to get CPS called on me because sushi is not appropriate toddler food. ARE YOU FORKING KIDDING ME. If it was just one of the wives, alright but SIX of them banded together to get their husbands to talk to my husband about my "abusive food behavior"....ughhhhh via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2zex26G
