I'm a new parent and I've steadily learned that many of the basic things parents say are clearly untrue. Some examples:Sugar makes your kids hyper. Plenty of research shows this isn't true.Classical music makes your kids smarter. This is based on one study of college students that even the authors said was misinterpreted. There's a golden window when children learn new languages. There's actually little evidence to suggest there's a critical period during which children need to learn new languages. So that we new parents can avoid myths like these, what is some other parenting "fake news" that people casually repeat but has actually been proven to be untrue? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2v7pu3r
