Violent/scary neighbor

Not sure this is the right place to ask this, but I was hoping I might get some guidance here.We have a 16 month old who is having night terrors. As a result, he sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night screaming. Our downstairs neighbor has complained about the noise in the past, and we have taken measures to reduce it as much as possible (we put pads under the chairs to reduce noise, we limit the use of certain toys after a certain time, etc.). The other night, as our child was screaming from another night terror, we heard violent noises coming from below. It sounded like they threw heavy furniture against the wall or the ceiling. This only scared our child more. After a few minutes, the same thing happened again, and we could clearly hear them cursing.We tried talking to them about it the next day, but they refused to come to the door.I can understand how horribly frustrating it must be to be woken by a screaming child in the middle of the night, but their violent reaction makes us feel uneasy and worry about our child's safety.Any advice in terms of how can we handle this? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2u9FlhH
