Talk to me about potty training competency, what can I expect my daughter to be able to do on her own?

So my daughter is only 16 months but I've been thinking a lot about potty training. I bought "Oh Crap! Potty Training" and am 1/3 of the way through it and really like it so far. The author recommends potty training sometime between 20-30 months and that aligns with when I would like to try to potty train her.But what can I expect her to be able to do? Obviously a 20 month old will need more help than a 30 month old, but what is reasonable to expect from each?I'm specifically wondering about: 1. after the first couple weeks, how much prompting do they need to remember to go? And 2. how independent are they during the process, such as taking pants off, putting them back on, wiping, etc. How long will they need help doing those things? Thanks! :) via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2upF9wO
