I'm a remarried man with only one bio child. My wife has two bio kids, we're adopting a 15 yr old and fostering a 7 month old.When I ask my son the simplest tasks he doesn't hear what I'm saying. If he's watching tv/playing a game he's so oblivious to everything around him.Part of this I believe is because of his mom and her partner. The co parenting hasn't been in good standing for almost 10 years now. If i don't do what they say, they keep him from me (this weekend was the first I've seen him in a month). They greatly try to micromanage my home (which I don't allow) send texts berating me, etc.I believe I don't discipline him like I should out of guilt. I don't want to spend my few weekends I have him jumping down his throats every 5 mins but to be fair to the house and the rules my wife and I have set in place, he is not above them and has to be dealt with like anyone else.Any advice? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2tDfRMC
