Does this mean I'm going to be abusive?! To get my son to sleep, he's swaddled, and then I pat him on his chest slowly to try to help him calm down. Now, my son has a habit of waking up at 4:30 every morning, definitely not hungry (usually eats at 3), and I can get him to go back to sleep by patting to calm him down.It can be so frustrating, given that I'm the one who gets him up for the day at 6 so my wife can sleep...and all I want is those few extra hours of sleep so I can attempt to function.tl;dr In my frustration, my patting gets harder, anything to get him to calm down. And when I went to change him this morning, he has a purple patch on his chest like 3" across! I feel absolutely terrible and I'm so worried about what the future will bring next time when I get frustrated. It doesn't seem to hurt him, but it looks horrible. To make matters worse, I was cutting his nails yesterday and took off a tiny patch of skin from his thumb. Am I a terrible father?? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2u10n1S
