Hi Ya'll.I am the father of a gorgeous 9 month old daughter -- our first. Since her birth, she's been by our side every second of every day. I work weekdays and my wife has taken leave since her birth. The time has finally come, however, to return to work. The trouble is, our daughter is extremely clingy. She'll cry in anyone else's arms, even those of relatives she sees almost daily, and refuses to play alone more often than not. She is attached to us both and it's been a strain but obviously worth it.We've got a little over two weeks until the big day and our daughter is still as clingy as ever. We've tried many doctor suggestions to get her to be more autonomous with nothing working so far. My fear is that our daughter will cry/hyperventilate/be permanently traumatized by daycare and I'll have had a hand in forever ruining this lovely little thing. So, I turn to you in all your infinite wisdom, Reddit. How can I help my daughter not be miserable during daycare? It's also worth noting that we'll be going to a private school's day program which is fairly highly rated. Not that it means much to a kid who'd cry in Ghandi/Buddha/Jesus' arms. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2vvgFzy
