14 year old son just asked me, his single father, how to talk to girls. I've always been terribly shy to the point where I've only ever been with his mother before she left us. I can't help my son with this and I feel awful.

I've always had low self esteem and been awkward and shy around women. Now my son, who has a lot more going for him than I ever did, has asked me how to get a girl's attention, when is it appropriate to approach a girl and ask her out, how to let her know he likes her etc.I know as much as he does, to be honest.
