Anyone write a letter to their kids to be kept with their will?

I went to a funeral this week for a man who died (cancer) way too young, who had small children who will barely remember him. It was heart breaking. Unsurprisingly it got me thinking some rather morbid what-ifs. One thing it got me thinking of is writing letters to my children telling them how much they mean to me, just in case something happens and I don't get to see them grow up.Has anyone done this for young children? What did you say? Where did you put it, with the will or somewhere else? Do you or will you update the letter as they get older?
