Hey everyone. I'll start off with saying that I myself am not Christian, but due to society in the US, I celebrate a non- secular Christmas/Yule for my daughter's sake.My exhusband and I divorced about two years ago. As amicable as it could have been under the circumstances. This year my daughter and my SOs son were at their other parental homes for Christmas. It was me and my SO the whole day. We didnt do anything. We didn't go anywhere or see anyone. There were sparse decorations, and a very lazy day.It was wonderful. It was relaxing. It was fun. It was easily one of the best holidays I've had. Tomorrow when the kids come home, we'll have a full day of them opening presents again. It doesnt really matter what actual day it is.Remember this year, especially my fellow divorcees, that holidays are more than lights and presents and flashy parties. It's about reconnecting with whatever you believe in. And we can do that in any circumstance. The actual day doesn't matter as much as what you make that time into. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2hf8csP
