Any advice on how to reduce my child's fear? He's scared of loud noises (anything from a motorcycle outside to an alarm on my phone), bugs, lightning without thunder - scared of thunder too but most kids are), water - sprinklers, pools, etc, bouncy houses, riding a bike with training wheels, dark clouds, the night, dogs, bouncy castles/houses, heights - even climbing gyms with those tubes in indoor play areas... Pretty much anything a kid can be scared of, he is.I respect his boundries and don't push him to do anything he feels uncomfortable doing but I feel like he's missing out on so much. When he was about 18 months, he was evaluated by the state's birth-to-three program primarily for physical therapy assistance due to his genetic growth disorder, Russell Silver Syndrome. At the time, we had him also evaluated by an occupational therapist for a sensory disorder bevause then, even the beep of a thermometer made him scream in terror. They said we had nothing to worry about and is much better with things that would be a red flag. But I also wonder if his smaller stature makes him less confident. He comes from a tall family so he's much larger than most with the same disorder so I just don't know. It could just be his analytical brain.Do I just let it be or is there anything I can do to help him overcome his fears? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2aaxJmo
