Are there any psychological disadvantages to be upfront with young children about sex?

I hope this doesn’t sound stupid or weird. I was just wondering if there is any psychological-developmental reason to dumb down sex for small children? Like obviously nothing explicit or inappropriate - but rather than say “mummies and daddies have a special hug” can you say “mummies and daddies have sex” and just be generally a bit more scientific right from the get go?
