My daughter is 6 and in 1st grade. She also has epilepsy and is being treated, has not had any episodes since the beginning of the school year (not sure if relevant). She did wonderful in Kindergarten and we worked on skills throughout summer. For 1st grade we had to move states so she is in a different school. She is doing decent in school now, A's and B's but at home I see her really struggling with concepts. I mentioned it to her teacher, she said she hasn't noticed anything at school but she is tutoring for reading. The other day we were doing homework where she had to pick the correct tense of a word; walking, walk, or walked. I was trying to explain the differences and thought she got it. Until later when we ran into a similar type of question. I, sadly, end up getting frustrated trying to explain things to her. It seems like every homework she doesn't know how to do completely and I have to "teach" her the concepts.I would really just like a resource that teaches me how to teach her. I've tried contacting the teacher but I'm pretty sure my daughter is kind of overlooked in school, quiet and more well behaved compared to others in her class. I just want to come up with other ways to explain things to her that may be easier for her to understand. Nothing happens when I'm frustrated and I know it's not her fault, I think she just learns a different way.tl;dr Would like a resource to teach me how to teach my child. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2k1gvNq
