Daughter arguing with husband over boyfriend

My daughter is intelligent, gets good grades, is in her junior year of high school. She is 16. For the context, me and my husband moved to US, 20 years back from India. My daughter was born here.My husband and I did not date anyone before we got married and as such have no first hand idea of the whole process. I read a lot and stay on top of these issues and I am determined to provide the right environment for my daughter. The issue is my husband has set a rule for my daughter to not date before college. She has a boy friend who she hangs out with and my husband's rule for them is to hang out in the living room only. My daughter resists this and they both argue on it. Though my daughter gives in, I don't think she is happy.Recently, there was a dad daughter showdown when my husband came home early and my daughter was in the pool with her boyfriend. I talked to my daughter and she is not willing to wait until college. I think she has done nothing wrong. But my husband doesn't listen and is hell bent on imposing his rules.I feel crushed between the two. One thing I am doing is to make sure I open my heart and being always available for my daughter to talk to. She admitted to liking this boy. I am wondering if I should let her date secretly but feels like cheating my husband. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2jX3h1S
