Annoyed by lack of consideration for parents (at schools).

My children go to elementary school. My son starts K today. They have a 1/2 hour visit - mid-morning. I just find out yesterday that the parents of K students have a welcoming event for them on the first full day of school tomorrow - this is at 8:30 am.I'm annoyed by this because I work in a school district about 40 minutes away with traffic. I always seem to need to change my schedule to accommodate elementary school things - it seems like they don't care that some parents have to work - I feel incredibly guilty missing his welcome event tomorrow but it's also my first day of work for the school year. UGH. Do other parents wish elementary schools would respect parents time? Or is it just me who feels this way? Maybe it's just my mom guilt. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2vIh8TJ
