My 13 year old son was really looking forward to a school field trip that is coming up in March. The trip is for eighth graders and is an outdoor camping trip. My older two kids have both went and both really enjoyed their time. My 13 year old was really looking forward to it.The trip requires you to sleep in a tent (one provided by the school) with one other person. My son is on the autism spectrum and although he is high functioning, he does not have many friends. He has three friends at school. Two of them are not going, but one of them was. My son and his friend signed up for one of the tents. My son's friend (also on the spectrum) got suspended for getting into a fight. If you have any academic or behavioral issues, you can not go on the trip so my son's friend was removed from the field trip.Well, that means my son can no longer attend the field trip. He received a letter yesterday and was pretty disappointed. I tried talking to the school and got no where. All the tents are full and no one is allowed to sleep alone. I am just sad for my son. He really wanted to go and now he can't due to something out of his control. I don't even know what I am looking for here. I guess I just needed to get some of that out. Thanks for reading. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2kw7TPC
