This happened yesterday at dinner. Both of my kids (4YO boy, almost 2YO girl) have been sick on-and-off over the last month or so, including my wife... my daughter in particular has been having it pretty rough, we went on a family vacation for a week and she was sick the entire time and barely enjoyed anything. Then we get back home and the weather has been absolutely dreadful, which doesn't help matters either. So yesterday at dinner we got takeout and my son is being peck-ish, he asks mom if he can go eat in the living room and watch TV... she lets him because he's sick, and goes and sits with him. So it's just me and my daughter at the table, which doesn't happen too often. And she's having a blast getting messy and eating and trying different foods on her plate. She's been in a much better mood lately, I think she's finally over her cold. So I'm just doing silly stuff with her (biting food off her fork, etc.) and she's laughing and smiling, and it makes me laugh and smile too.You ever do the forced laughter thing where it makes your toddler laugh and go crazy too? I started doing that, with different laughter types (woody-woodpecker, krusty the clown, beavis and butthead, etc.) and even though it was forced a bit at first, it quickly turns into genuine laughter. We were laughing together at the dinner table for a good 5-10 minutes. I used to do this with my son a fair bit when he was her age, and he's turned out to be one of the funniest kids I know.I felt so bad for her over the last little while, it was really nice seeing my little girl having such a good time again :)Still thinking about that goofy kid today, my kids are hilarious... no wonder they drive my wife nuts sometimes. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2WuO3F7
