So I'm posting this on a throwaway.I'm (39F) a wife (Hubby is 40M), and a mother to 3, and we're a very close, loving family. But, my husband and I have recently gotten into a tiff about swimsuits. My oldest (16F), just turned 16 right before spring break, so I took her shopping as part of her birthday presents. One thing she really wanted was some new bathing suits for our spring break vacation and for the summer. She grabbed some suits and tried them on, and they were cute, but I noticed that a lot of them had very little coverage in the bum. It took some convincing, but I eventually let her get some (definitely not thong-style, but some that were kinda cheeky). I didn't tell my husband about it because I feel like clothing and modesty should be up to me because I understand clothing and teenage girls a little better. So we went on our spring break trip to the beach, and my husband was very upset that our daughter was in "skimpy swimsuits." I tried to reason with him, but he freaked out because he thinks it was too immodest, but he was equally upset that I didn't at least consult him about it, since our marriage is 50/50. So that put a real damper on our vacation, and it's been a point of tension in our household since we got home.So I'm taking to Reddit! Are those sort of swimsuits inappropriate for a teenager, and am I in the wrong for not consulting my husband?TLDR: I let my daughter get cheeky swimsuits, and my husband's upset because of the suits, and that I didn't consult him. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2q3Qe3F
