For the past few nights, bedtime has been gruesome with my 23-month old. She is a pretty good sleeper, and had recently gotten into a really nice bedtime routine, but she is in the habit of laying on top of us to fall asleep. I mean, she basically hugs us and rests her face next to ours. She mostly does this just to fall asleep, and maybe once a few hours before waking up. But she is getting way too big to be doing that! My wife who is rather short and petite has an especially hard time with it.The thing is, if we don’t allow her to lay on top of us at bedtime, she goes into the most hellish of tantrums. She cries frantically and can’t be consoled except by being embraced one way or another. It’s been a very shocking and disorienting couple of nights. We want her to just lay next to us to fall asleep, but she won’t have it. Even though we are still snuggling her. There was a time in the past when this was her preferred position to fall asleep in. I don’t know what happened.I know it’s kind of an odd habit we have, but I’m positive many of you will have insight we could benefit from. Thank you! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2GwagKm
