My 6 year old has high functioning autism and my 2 year old is neurotypical. Both are boys. My wife wants to have another and we planned to but took a step back after our son was diagnosed this year.I know that any future children we have will be higher risk because of our older son's diagnosis and that scares me. My son is high functioning but having two children with autism would be incredibly difficult especially if our future child was lower functioning. I also am not sure how fair it would be middle child. He adores his big brother but I know it will get harder as they get older. I don't want to add more challenges to that. There is also no guarantee that another child would have autism. My younger son doesn't even though his brother does. It's just an increased risk.Has anyone decided to have a child after having one diagnosed with autism? How did you make that decision and how do you feel about it now? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2Jjm2tC
