7 year old daughter embarrassed by her hairy legs.

As the title states, my daughter has hairy legs - hairier than mine ever were. She's very self-conscious of it and says kids tease her about them so she won't wear shorts/dresses/skirts. I don't know how much the kids tease her, if at all, or if a friend made an observation. Either way, she wants to start shaving them at 7 yrs.My wife and I talked for a long time about it last night, and we couldn't come to a conclusion. I'm slightly more in favor of some means of hair control because I always hated feeling out of place and not fitting in. Wife's more opposed to it because it's a 7 year old girl shaving her legs and what's the next insecurity? Anyone have similar issues? How did you resolve it?Keep in mind we tell her she's beautiful, tell her not to listen to bullies, tell her that teasing is part of life, tell her it's more important to be nice than pretty. We do all that.EDIT: To clarify, I'm not so much looking for techniques, I'm looking for thoughts on the decision.EDIT 2: Formatting. Also, this morning she declared that her legs have become less hairy, so maybe it was self-solving until the next issue arises. I think I'm going to push for letting her shave if the topic comes up again, thanks for all the great input! Also, also, not sure why I'm getting downvoted, this seems like a legit question? via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2JjZqZZ
