2yo won't go to sleep on my lap

I'm the father to a 2.5 year old autistic daughter (reasonably sure, anyway, pedi said its too early for a proper diagnosis) and she needs to be rocked to sleep every night (but even then only after she's tired enough)The problem is, she will only let her mom do it. If I try to put her in my lap anywhere near bed time, she will physically fight me to get off, and go to her mom. If she's lying down and trying to sleep, she'll try to pull her up.This is only at bedtime though. During the day, she's happy to sit or lie in my lap any time, for any reason. Until somebody mentions the words bed time, in which case she's off in an instant.I don't need as much sleep as my wife does, so I'd be happy to put my little one to sleep, and calm her down when she gets up at night, if she would actually let me.Is there anything I can do to make her accept me putting her to sleep? She can't talk at all yet, so I can't just explain things to her. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2xPpAjC
