2 sport conflict with my son, not sure the best way to handle it diplomatically...

Back story, my son is on the travel soccer team, he was recruited by the head coach during an indoor rec league. The team plays year round and we're currently in our spring league which also coincides with baseball season. The coach assured me that the spring league wasn't as important as fall and it was ok. The first 2 years it wasn't a big deal, the schedules mostly worked out or we were able to split time, never missed a game and made it to, at the very least, part of just about every practice.Fast forward to now. Travel soccer has practice 2 nights a week, 1 night is with a professional trainer (which I've paid for). Our schedules for baseball come out, he moved up to kid pitch this year so things are different and we have games every week coincidentally on the exact same nights as soccer practices. So my son hasn't been to any practices, the team played pretty bad this weekend as a whole and she approached me after the game asking if I could maybe make it to at least one practice a week (and subsequently miss baseball, the sport he'd prefer to go to). Also, our 3rd year on the team and I can count on one hand the times he's been allowed to play on offense. This is a contention of my own, I know he's not a starter but he's absolutely better than some of the newer kids on the team who have been rotated in on offense. So there's my dilemma, I'm pretty intent on sticking with baseball, I just don't want the coach to wind up taking it out on him. If it weren't a problem, we'd actually be there and there's an additional keeper practice she's scheduled on the weekends and we do go to that.edit: To clear some things up, my big issue is how I should address the coach and tell her he's doing baseball and whether or not I should air my other grievances with her. He'll be on the team again in the fall when there are no baseball issues and next year we'll probably skip the spring session. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2oQyCK9
