I'm a hispanic woman with light golden skin tone and black hair. My husband is white, so his skin is more pinkish and light with brown hair. When he was little however his hair was golden blonde. We have two gorgeous children together. Our first born came out like me with the skin and hair. Our second however came out with blonde hair and blue eyes. She looks NOTHING like me....She even has her daddy's face, a mini clone of her father.Since she was born, on numerous occasions i've been asked by complete strangers whether it was my daughter. When she was a toddler and i would take her to library playtime theyd ask me if i was her nanny..Which hurt not only because we do not look alike, but because i'm clearly hispanic so i can't be her aunt or anything, i must be "hired help" of some sort..On my son's first week of pre school his teacher came up to me while my daughter was in her stroller and asked me who she was (i'm guessing because she always saw her with me while dropping off my son). I said "my daughter" and her eyes bugged out and she went "oh thats your daughter!" And i went "yeah...who did you think she was?" She then proceeded to ask "adopted?" "No..." "Same father?" Then the other teacher touched her shoulder as if to tell her "thats rude, stop.." My blood was boiling...As it's not the first time someone asked me if theyre full blood siblings. They look nothing alike so it must be they have different dads. When my son went to kinder in a different school his teacher asked him "who's that baby in the stroller?" And he went "my sister" And she went "Omg, but she's got blonde hair..." because clearly my son is lying right lady? I went with a deadpan stare "yeah that's my daughter, his sister..." To which she fumbled her words a bit and said "i thought you took care of her" and went "shes beautiful.." "thank you..."Most recently my son (now 7) is in an after school program where they held a special parent-kid dinner. It was lovely and since my husband was working overtime, i couldn't leave my daughter at home and took her with me. As we sat on the table, first thing his after school teacher blurts out upon seeing my two babies sitting together eating is "James that is your sister, oh wow....this whole time i thought..." I stare at her waiting for her to finish but she stops herself. My daughter now five and sharp as a tack goes "I look like my daddy, i have my daddys hair and eyes. But James looks like mommy" And James goes "horray genetics!"I know i'm rambling...it's just that the last one was recent and fresh in my mind. I was wondering if there's any other parents out there that can relate to my situation. Who look NOTHING like their children and get this type of bs thrown their way on occasion too.. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2LmuqLc
