
We’ve been struggling since the start of Kinder with how tired our newly 6yo is. Due to work/school schedules, we have to get the kids up at 6:30. She gets done with school quite late (hers is 9-4) and with traffic we usually don’t get home much before 5, sometimes later if she played a little on the playground with friends. By the time all the evening routine is done, including one busy evening where she has an activity, we can’t seem to get her to bed any earlier than 8-8:30. This is enough sleep for her almost 4yo sister (who still naps occasionally during car rides if she needs) but not for 6yo. By the time we get back from school Thurs evening, she’s a bear. Morning and evening Friday are even worse. I feel like I’m always rushing her to take quicker showers, eat dinner faster, get dressed faster just to try get her a little more sleep. Anyone else struggling with this? It doesn’t feel healthy but unless we do literally nothing other than routine on school days while at home I can’t figure out how to get her the sleep she needs! via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2QiGH37
