I had one 7 week prenatal appointment at one doctor before my insurance changed and I had to switch. The next location didn’t see me until 14 weeks where I signed for my records to be transferred. Then I had my next appointment at 18 weeks and they informed me I had tested positive for opiates at the 7 week appointment. They tested me again at that 18 week appointment and it was negative. For what it matters, it was a false positive and I’m endlessly frustrated and anxious about it. By the time I was informed it was too late to do a hair sample and the urine sample was long gone. I mailed a letter documenting everything and my statement that it was a false result to be put in my medical records but who knows if that helps. They haven’t brought it up in subsequent appointments so I thought maybe that was that but I’m 28 weeks now and just received a call from a voluntary CPS program that services “at risk” parents to prevent abuse, developmental delays, etc. I was required to fill out a screener at my 14 week appointment and nothing on it put me at risk so I’m guessing they sent my drug result to the program along with the screener.I’m really looking for experiences of how birth and early parenting went for people who had a positive drug test in early pregnancy, false or not. Were you and baby tested in the hospital? Did they remove baby at all? Did they do any home visits? Just trying to prepare myself. Any info is appreciated. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2GPyMej
