So Tuesday was my son's first day of school. He's taking to it very well. He goes to a before-school and after-school program so I drop him off about an hour before school starts. Every day has been tough in the morning, he gets there and there are bigger kids playing soccer or basketball, other kids playing boardgames and coloring and he just doesn't know who to approach or what to do so I've been making sure he's content and happy before we give a big hug and kiss and I leave for work. TODAY WENT GREAT. He walked into the gym, grabbed a basketball and starting heaving it towards the hoop. Another older kid came over and they started sharing, all is well. We say goodbye and I sign the sheet saying I dropped him off and leave for work.An hour later I get the call. "Hi, this is Sheryl at the school office"In my head I'm thinking, oh no... what happened, what did he do? Is everything okay?"your son doesn't have school on Fridays"I'm relieved but I KNEW THIS!!!! I yell "I'm so stupid" in my office. Drive back to the school, pick him up, take him to daycare (they were wondering why we were so late) and head back to work.To be fair, my wife packed his lunch the night before... and the receptionist told me I wasn't the only parent that did this today. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2oOOV7G
