My kid has spent most of the summer butt naked, partly because it was hot but partly because he panics when he realises he's wearing clothes. He starts tugging at socks, tshirts or jumpers, hyperventilating and screeching. He has never allowed us to put blankets on him at night , will kick them off instantly or panic if he can't get them off (sleeping sack) or wake up if he feels us putting them on, When he ends up in bed with us he does the same with out blanket. He pulls his socks off in the night. We had a cold burst in spring and I was layering him up before bed in woollen overalls and three jumpers and it worked okay sometimes but other times he would freak. Also winter will obviously be a lot colder and you can only wear so many layers. As for shoes, he has been a barefoot kid the entire time (we live in the bush on a small island in NZ so it's totally doable), which has been fine in the warm season or last winter he wasn't walking, but now that the temperature is rapidly dropping I'm not sure what to do about the cold, the wet, and the mud! He thinks he can't walk when I put shoes on him! He will panic and tug at them and make his legs go limp as though we're torturing him. I've got some very soft soled shoes which after a few attempts he will wear for a little while but they won't do anything against the cold and the mud and he just won't wear gumboots! Has anyone gone through this?? Help!!TLDR; 1 year old won't keep blankets on at night or gumboots on in the day and has panic attacks about jumpers and socks. I'm worried he's going to freeze or be sick all winter! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2GPurGx
