I’m fairly certain this is very common behavior for a toddler, but, what can I or my girlfriend do to curb this? It seems to be getting worse. To the point that grocery shopping with my toddler is a pain. It’s damn difficult to push the cart, grab my groceries off the shelves (and sometimes putting chicken in the plastic bags) all while holding a 35 lbs toddler. It’s just not possible! The other day I had to put her in the cart and she kept screaming and trying to climb out towards me, and this can go on for the entire duration of the shopping trip. Then there’s the times when I’m trying to get the groceries out of the car to put them away and my LO wants to be continuously held. If I or my girlfriend don’t hold her, she has meltdowns that can last for very long periods. Any suggestions on how to approach this? She’s getting way too heavy to be held all the time.
