Our 10 month old is currently in the hospital due to a cyst that is pushing on his bladder and complications related to that. He will eventually be fine but it may be a few weeks to a couple months from what we know thus far. In the mean time he is in a near by hospital and my husband and I are trading nights between home with our nearly 6 year old and the hospital (so one of us is always home). We have given the nearly 6 year old very simple explanations what is wrong and reassured him that his brother will be okay. And every other day or so we take him to visit. The first few days I think our He was taking it all in stride, enjoying a little respite from his little brother. But we are now a week into the baby's hospital stay without a real timeline yet on when he will be home and big brother seems to be increasingly worried. He constantly comments it feels lonely and quiet at home. And tonight he wanted to pray for his brother and it nearly made me cry listening to his prayers for his little brother, it is clear he is worried his little brother isn't coming home again. :(And suggestions to help reassure him? This is literally the worse parenting situation we have been in: 1 sick in the hospital and 1 sad and worried at home. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2w9wa1p
