Forcing 4yr old to go to church?

Good morning! I know this is a tough topic. There are people on both sides of the issue, but i hope you can look at it from my perspective. I'll try and keep it short.I'm not religious. I'm a mix of atheist and agnostic. I don't fully know what I believe in but it's definitely not organized religion. I wouldn't say I don't believe in God, but i do believe everyone has a right to their own personal beliefs.I was raised southern Baptist and was forced to go to church and I *hated it. * the kids there bullied me. I couldn't stand the hive mind and hypocrisy. I was looked down on cause I was goth.I have a 4yr old and 2yr old. I've always let my parents take them to church. The break is nice and I want them to be educated about different religions. As they get older I plan on personally taking them to different kinds of church services in multiple religions. I want them to be fully educated about their beliefs. But I would never force them.My 4yr old the last few weeks doesnt want to go. That's fine with me! I will never force him. But my parents and grandma are furious. They think I'm making a horrible decision and my mom is even threatening not to babysit. She babysits at least 1-3 times a week.Am I in the wrong for standing up for my beliefs? I have 0 problems with him going to church but I will NEVER force my son like I was forced. I resent my parents for forcing me. They say he's too young to make the decision but it's my decision. If he doesn't want to go he doesn't have to.I would just like some advice on the situation. It's stressing me out when I'm already stressed out over a million other things. Please keep it civil as well. Thank you! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2u3VK6k
