So, my 3 yr old son has been in therapy because he has bigger than normal emotional reactions which led to quite a lot of aggression, plus he has a lot of sensory issues. Anyhow, in his last session I asked what to do about the anger. A coping mechanism that his therapist, who is the best ever, said to do was to get a dollar store pool noodle, cut it in half, and boom you’ve got a couple of swords. Then, when he’s feeling angry, I blow bubbles at him and he gets his aggression out whacking the bubbles with his sword. He loves it! He also enjoys sword fights (we had a mighty sword fight today, we showed no mercy). Also, and this is just an idea I had, you could do an arts and crafts thing and decorate the swords with stickers and whatnot. Just thought I’d share this :) via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2KkFl8C
