My world is falling apart, but as long as I have my kids, I’ll be just fine.

My wife is leaving, she’s always stressed because she works 3 jobs (by choice) For the past 6 months, I put all my energy into consoling her, giving her tips to deal with anxiety, preaching to her to take things “one day at a time”, preaching about being more present with the kids. I’ve tried to talk to her about quitting one of her jobs and doing more family things together. I have no more fight in me. She’s not taking this seriously. She thinks by leaving, the grass will be greener, but she’s failing at watering the grass she has now. That’s outta my control. My boys are 4 and 7. I spent my day alone with them yesterday, and I felt very depressed in the morning. In the afternoon, my 4 year old kept asking me to do something. So I took them to the splash pad/ park and let them play, then I took them out for ice cream, then we went home and coloured for a bit, and went outside to play frisbee. I gave them a bath and we had a movie night. They are all I have right now and being present with them is a very therapeutic thing for not only myself, but I’m sure for them as well. As sad as this whole thing is, this is only temporary and the only thing I know for sure is that I will always have my kids by my side. via /r/Parenting http://bit.ly/2Ft22Ee
