[Rant] Daycare allowed my child to be injured

I’m so pissed off at my daughters daycare centre right now. Yesterday, my wife gets a call that my daughter fell, hit the back of her head on the concrete ground and her nose started bleeding. It sent both of us into a panic. We both started off towards the centre so we could take her to the ER to get checked out. When my wife got there and to our daughter, she called me with what had really happened. The daycare had put a wood pallet against their little stone wall outside for the kids to climb on. Not secured, just leaned up against the wall to be used like a little ladder. My daughter was trying to climb up it, fell backwards, crashing her head onto the concrete, then the pallet crashed onto her face, causing a huge lump on her head and a bloody nose. We took her to the children’s ER, and fortunately she was okay. On the way home my daughter told me that while it hurt to have it hit her, the fact that she was trapped and couldn’t get out scared her, and that bothered her more. I KNOW that dumb stupid (expletive) wasn’t paying attention. She was daydreaming about whatever stupid people daydream about. I’ve actually walked in to pick up my daughter and had her not even look up from whatever she was doing to say hi, or bye, whatever. Fortunately yesterday was her last day and I won’t have to see her again (unrelated to this incident). So today, the daycare tells my wife that, despite her insisting on getting rid of the wood pallets, they will keep them, but ONLY to have them laying down. They won’t stand them up again. I’m half way tempted to jut take my sawzall in and cut them up myself. Rant over. via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2OB69kB
