Have any of you heard of this? We have neighbors and the dad is a doctor (though in sports medicine) and mom is an acupuncturist, FWIW. They have two girls who have had head lice for months. I went over to their house for a party (she assured me after the last time they were "clean") but both my kids and I got them too. Their girls have infested everyone in the neighborhood and everyone they've come in contact with and no one will let them over the threshold anymore, or go over to play, obviously. When I offered the mom a tube from my Sklice stash, which is like a $60 gift, TYVM, she said no, she and her husband did not "agree" with using "pesticides," they are going to keep combing and laundering, per some web site they saw. Which she sent a link to, but thanks, I'm going to listen to the pediatrician, and also whatever method clearly obviously doesn't fucking work for shit!I was going to write them off as crackpots but THEN another parent in carpool told me they ALSO don't "believe" in "chemical" head louse treatments. WHAT THE HELL YOU GUYS?! I can't find anything online about head louse treatment being bad! Unless you drink it or something! If setting my kids' hair on fire would get rid of lice, frankly, I will set their hair on fire. I can't figure out where these people are coming from, at all, and I feel terrible for their kids. If it is just that bad, just shave their head already so they can have friends? So my question is have any of you heard anything about louse treatments being harmful? I haven't heard/can't find one thing, but if I'm poisoning my kids horribly I guess I would like to know. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2lTnY4d
