My 6 year old son bought his first dress yesterday.

Shopping at a thrift store and he saw one that caught his eye. I'm done saying no. My husband is FURIOUS and thinks he's too young to make decisions like that. I obviously disagree and want to let him express himself in whatever way he wants. Ever since he was 1-2 years old he has wanted to try my makeup, shoes, clothes, etc. He watches me do my hair. He loves barbies and shopkins and other typical "girl" toys. Husband has never been thrilled about the toys but let him have them. His best friends are 11 and 12 year old girls even though there are boys his age in our neighborhood. I think it's more hurtful to repress him and tell him he can't be who or what he wants to be. I mean when it comes down to it Its a fucking piece of clothing. Hurting nobody. Only doing good by making my son happy (will link picture of him in dress in the comments.) I don't want him to live his life being told that is "wrong" (because it's not) if that's truly what he wants. And after all this time I'm certain it's what he truly wants. He likes to watch the runway part of RPDR with me because He loves the "the beautiful men in dresses." I'm happy to let him (he doesn't watch the workroom stuff so misses anything inappropriate in their dialogue) so he knows there are other boys and men like him.Any words of reassurance and encouragement that I am doing the right thing are welcome. Also any advice on how to deal with bullying in such a young boy in this situation. Thanks in advance! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2sBt2Iy
