Newborn Gas 4+ hours after eating?

I apologize if this is a stupid question, but my wife and I are trying to figure out what the heck was going on with our 11-week-old last night. He had last eaten at 330PM with no issues. Starting at 5PM, he became inconsolable and was screaming at the top of his lungs. We have no idea what was going on, we tried gripe water, even tylenol at one point because the screaming was going on for over 3 hours. Is it possible for a baby to have gas pains more than 4 hours after they last fed? I would have thought at that point that there wasn't any food or gas really in their system to get uncomfortable from. His screaming definitely sounded similar to gas pain screaming, and he was retracting his legs back and forth. Whatever it was, it seemed to hit him in waves every couple of minutes or so. He eventually conked out asleep at around 830PM and didn't move for at least 4 hours. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2nIew0W
