I seriously feel like J.D if he were a stay at home Dad!

Just venting here,I recently picked up crocheting because I want to make 8-bit blankets for my kids and myself.I'm Not A "Manly" Man....I am not a hunter, I enjoy building with tools, and I enjoy fishing, but I also enjoy gardening, I enjoy decorating (especially for the holidays) and I like dressing well. (Bow ties and button downs)I'm secure in who I am to know that I rock being a stay at home Dad. I can fix something if it breaks, and I can build something new.I decided I wanted to pick up crocheting for a couple reasons. Mainly my mom is getting older and I want to have something that she can pass on. I want to teach my kids one day. I also want to make a sweet 8-bit Megaman blanket.I posted a picture on Facebook today and I got some supportive comments, but I'm also getting comments like, "Oh. You're making yourself a purse?"Normally I've been able to shake these kinds of comments off, but I'm getting pissed that somehow my masculinity is being defined by hobbies. I want my boys to grow up learning to enjoy doing what they do without worrying about someone else's opinions.I'm also angry with myself that I'm 32 and I'm letting myself get bothered by this.Anyway, I'm happy with my progress and my kids will be the only ones with their blankets so I don't care in the end. I just wish others could be mature and supportive. via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2gPenr2
