Dad here - What to do with Kids when I think most of the stuff they do is boring?

So I have a four year old daughter and a 10 month old son and I feel like I have trouble finding activities where we're both engaged in the activity. Mostly this is an issue with my daughter who's really high energy in the afternoon when I get home from a long day at work.Example: My daughter wants to color together. Great. Coloring is fun for me too... for like... 5 minutes. Then it just starts getting tedious and I start looking for a way out or get distracted by my phone. For the 10 month old that's sometimes a little easier but also harder because I'm just giving him things to explore and play with while I kinda sit there and help out and talk to him and help him manipulate his environment type things.I want to play with my daughter but I just need something where it's easier for me to stay engaged. Play pretend, coloring, dolls, these are really hard at the end of a long work day.We do connect better over legos, and her sitting in my lap playing simple flash games or other games she likes on my computer.I just worry that:1) I'm not being engaging enough with her often enough2) The activities I being 'engaged' enough are all downtime activitiesIs this something normal to worry about? Any help, tips? via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2gNcJ9h
