Thank you in advance for any constructive feedback, I'm finding myself stuck with my 13 month-old. I'm a first-timer and I want to learn from you all!My 13 month-old girl has turned a definite corner into toddler-hood and I wasn't ready!Tantrums She definitely tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants. She can touch/play with 95% of what she can reach in our house (we baby-proofed a ton), but when she wants my hot coffee cup/phone/sharp thingy, she wails, throws herself around and often ends up falling or bumping her head, which sets her off again. What am I doing about this now? Let her tantrum for a few seconds, then re-direct/distract her. If that doesn't work, I let her tantrum and try to comfort her, calming explaining that she can't have that thing. Thoughts/advice?Dropping food In her high chair she will grab some food, hold it out to the side and try to get a reaction from me. It's not a huge deal, but it's annoying when she drops food everywhere. What am I doing now? I tell her in an encouraging voice to put the food back on the tray or eat it. If she does, I praise her. If she drops it anyway I ignore that the first time. If she keeps on, I ask her if she's all finished (she knows the sign for this) and take away her tray (cue tantrum, sigh)hitting She JUST started doing this when she's upset or realizes I've told her 'no.' I say 'no hitting' and immediately put her down or move away from her for a minute or two, then return and distract her.I honestly just don't know if I'm doing it right. She's turned into a very moody toddler almost overnight and it's tiring. I know I have so much more in front of me, help me get started on the right path!Edit: sorry for the strange formatting, I'm new to this! via /r/Parenting http://ift.tt/2aqF9RT
