Unique name causing trouble?

We named our son Blues, long story behind why, but he has a normal middle name and a common surname, so we decided to give him a unique first name that meant something to us. We've never had an issue until now. Sorry for the long story, just need to vent.We moved both our kids to a private school in the area. My daughter is in 3rd grade, my son is in 1st. This will be their first year at this private school, so we went to an open-house type thing for new kids to visit the school and meet the teacher before school starts in 2 weeks. We went to our daughter's first, she had noproblem. THe teacher was very lovely, and we even met another new girl starting that year in her class as well. So we move on to my son's classroom, and the desks all have names written on name tags. We look around for my son's, but we only find one with "B. (middle name)." His middle name was written on the name tag in full with a B initial in the front. I thought that was odd, so I went to ask the teacher about it. I told her there must have been a mix-up as his first name is not written on the name tag.She looked surprised for a second then said she assumed there was an error on the roster, as she's never encountered someone with that name before. Fine, fair enough. Misunderstanding. So, she corrects the nametag, and we're on our merry way. We went to pick up some extra forms yesterday to fill out with contact information, etc. and lo and behold, Blues's name is again written as "B. (middle name)." I ask the receptionist if she wrote it, and she said the teacher would be the one handing out and collecting the forms.I don't know why this is such an issue. My son's 6 years old, and I'm just confused as to why a teacher would do such a thing. Am I making a big deal out of this? School starts in a couple weeks, and I really don't want to make a fuss, but it's been bugging me since the first time we met her.Any advice would be great, thanks! via /r/Parenting https://ift.tt/2n7Zzpj
